Kingswood Village Playgroup is run by a committee of parents. We have a dedicated team of staff who hold relevant, necessary early years qualifications. All of our staff work directly with the children.

Sessions

Sessions are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9-15am – 1pm during term time.  A 12pm finish is an option, however we do encourage children to stay and eat their lunch together with the staff, which helps develop their social skills, plus the children really enjoy it!  Healthy snacks and water or milk are provided at snack time but the children need to bring their own packed lunch if staying for lunch.

Outdoors

Following the Early Years and Foundation Curriculum we are lucky enough to make use of the village playground and playing field where we spend much of our time playing, exploring, learning and enjoying the nature around us.  For rainy days, we make use of the big hall where we can utilise the extra space for more activities.  In one corner of the field we have set up an outdoor education area where we can build dens and utilise the natural resources around us. We also have our own allotment to grow some of our own fruit and vegetables.

Fees/Funding

With competitively priced fees we also accept the government funding of 15 hours per week as well as childcare vouchers from a variety of schemes.

Ofsted

The last Ofsted inspection rated us as ‘Good’. “The manager and staff know the children well and what interests them.” ” Younger children settle well into the playgroup.” “Staff encourage children’s language and mathematical learning.”

Life after Playgroup

We have close links with both Kingswood and Hillesley Primary Schools and help with the transition when your child is starting school.  In their final term, the children will walk down to the school for additional visits.
